If you cannot attend the symposium, there are other ways to contribute to the Barkley Sound Knowledge Base--a central element of the Vision & Goals of the Barkley Sound Knowledge Symposium. Please share this knowledge in any or all of the ways listed below.
Does not require submission of a Wiki abstract:
- The simplest way to contribute is by writing a Wiki article. By clicking 'Enter Barkleypedia', you may create an article reviewing your research or field of knowledge that would inform the Ecological Assessment of Barkley Sound (we may contact you for further collaboration and partnership). You will be able to edit your article at any time (the public can comment on it in blog form.) You may also read other posted articles at this link. These articles will automatically become a part of the dynamic Knowledge Base of Barkley Sound.
- We will accept any submitted electronic posters about Barkley Sound and display them on this website.
Requires submission of a Wiki abstract:
- Prepare a poster to be displayed in your absence, preferably but not necessarily, with a student or colleague who will stand by your work and can answer questions on your behalf. If you are interested in this option you will still need to submit an abstract and be accepted for presentation in the usual fashion. If you are accepted to present a poster an electronic version of your poster should also be submitted. If you are accepted for presentation and cannot attend, contact symposium@westcoastaquatic.ca to make an alternative arrangement.
- Send a colleague or associate to orally present your work at the symposium on your behalf. If you are interested in this option someone will still need to register for the conference, submit an abstract, and be accepted for presentation in the usual fashion. If you are accepted for presentation and cannot attend, contact symposium@westcoastaquatic.ca to make an alternative arrangement.
Please continue to visit this page as additional ways to contribute will be posted in the near future.
