The
Westerly News Ucluelet and Tofino were awarded $8,000 in grant money to put toward water conservation. Ucluelet's list of uses for the grant include: developing a drought management plan; promoting low-impact development solutions for a water conservation plan; reviewing and editing bylaws; and educating the public on water conservation. Tofino plans to use its grant to develop a water conservation plan, a contingency plan, and a drought management plan. Land and Water BC, the government corporation responsible for Crown land and water resources, funded the grants to assist water suppliers with drought management and water conservation.
