    about the site

Welcome to the WCVI Aquatic Management Board's website. This site is designed for the following user groups:
     - Aquatic Management Board members, staff and associates
     - Resource users throughout the West Coast Vancouver Island management area
     - General public, with educational, business, recreation and travel interests in this area

The site is designed for visitors to be able to access information about the West Coast by region or use sector. The six regions correspond to traditional First Nations territories, which are also separate watershed ecosystems. Information presented in this ecosystem framework reflects the Board's values of making resource management decisions within the context of a healthy ecosystem.

Acknowledgements: Thanks in particular to Phil Edgell who contributed many of the underwater images on the site, Kevin Conley and Andrew Day for great aerial shots, and to Fisheries & Oceans Canada for the image used on our Fisheries page.

Your comments and suggestions are welcomed.
